Role Summary
- Leads a small time-limited project or components of a larger project and directs one or more teams of business consultants involved in the evaluation of systems requirements and/or the development of new procedures/processes/policy solutions to address complex business needs.
- May also assess impact and implications from a cost, efficiency, contractual, legal and/or regulatory standpoint.
- Determines requirements, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress.
- Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team¿s effectiveness.
- Compiles and analyzes results of services for identification of improvement opportunities.
- Develops, produces, gathers and improves executive and line of business scorecards.
- Defines and consults on measurement strategies, tools, scorecards and surveys.
- Provides services benchmarking and industry comparative analysis support.
- Provides measurement and cost savings support (development, reporting, validation and improvement) for service management.
- May coordinate with other project managers.
- Position may be a first level manager and have responsibility for people management or may be an individual contributor working on significant processes and/or technical tools utilizing independent judgment and discretion within a business organization or across various functional areas.
Major Duties
- Assist with the execution and maintenance of edits and related technical tasks.
- Development of measures and tracking for Employer Production Services
- Evaluates and appropriately utilizes various approaches to data mining to narrow in on trends and drivers that directly impact outcomes.
- Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous technical data solutions.
- Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
- Works closely with matrix business partners to define data needs, opportunities for improvement and effectively communicates results of analysis and solutions.
- Works well with technical support to hand off appropriate items once development is complete and appropriate sign off has been received.
- Performs technical duties as assigned for Capacity Planning and Short Term Inventory Management.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or higher is strongly preferred
- At least two, typically four years of solid, diverse technical work experience is preferred
- Two to four years of installation processes for new and renewing clients is preferred
- Expertise in utilizing Excel, create functions and develop macros is required
- Ability to write, read and code using SQL, especially SAS and Microsoft SQL Server highly desired.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Access to manipulate and analyze data is necessary.
- Experience with data mining tools, approaches, applications to define areas of focus and highly correlated variables, key drivers of errors and rework highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive to objectives
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to research, problem solve, trouble shoot, influence and partner across the organization to a 'win-win¿ solution for internal partners and external clients, as well as CIGNA overall.
- Strong presentation skills. Able to prepare, deliver, and ensure understanding of information regarding any customer-related or process improvement topic across audiences.
- Experience with Healthcare Claim Data strongly desired
